KISS MY BASS... because it's a lot cuter than a catfish.

Strike Three!

On our third attempt to see Santa, we struck out again.  We pulled on our Christmas pajamas and drove over to the Bass Pro Shop (it's really close to us, so not a bad trip at all!) to see Santa, but their Winter Wonderland was not accepting any more Santa picture-takers.  And even though it was technically free to see Santa, you still had to obtain a "BASS PASS" to sit on the old man's lap and get a picture. When we got to the store, it was four hours till closing time -- but all the Bass Passes were already gone.

What?!? No Santa?

Fibbers.

Somewhere between the bait and tackle and the clothing section, Momma Peach came to the realization that "we don't need no stinkin' Santa picture this year!"

Evie is not exactly the biggest fan of the bearded old guy ...  and honestly, it's not the REAL reason for the season anyhow!

AND, because Evie is absolutely awesome in our eyes, she deserves a picture that reaches for the superior level of awesomeness that the typical Santa/Holiday/Christmas picture just can't obtain.

Therefore...

BOOOOO- yah!!!
Got Santa? Nope,  but we got frikkin' SHARKS, y'all.

(I'm kinda sad that we already printed our Christmas cards, as this would have won the card selection process hands-down.)

Momma Peach found it incredibly amusing that although Evie is not a fan of Santa, she was fascinated by the shark and all the other animals on display in the store.

Guy in a red suit? Screams and panic ensue.

Giant grizzly bear and mountain lion baring their huge teeth at her? She wants to pet them.

While checking out the moose, she spotted another of her favorite animals...

THE TURKEY!!
(It's our theory that Evie's turkey obsession is due to the fabulous "gobble-gobble" noises that Momma Peach & Dadda unabashedly perform whilst reading
Hard Scrabble Harvest to her)

We decided to take a closer look at what will be Evie's first car in t-minus 15 years...

Put this on my Christmas list, Momma!

While you're at it, put this sweet thing on my Christmas list too!!

Apparently, red plaid pajamas attract fish. Who knew?
I WANT TO PET THE FISHIES!

That's the biggest fish I've ever seen!

Our little girl is already picking up older men.
When the boys on the other side of the huge tank realized the fish were attracted to Evie's side for some reason (see... her red plaid pajamas really attracted them!), the boys rushed over to make friends with her and encroach on her viewing space.
(Let that be a lesson to you, little girl. Want a boyfriend later in life? Just go fishin'...)

All in all, we had a much better time wandering around Bass Pro than we would have if we had tried to see Santa...

Be My Christmas Gift
If you sat beneath the Christmas tree,
You’d sure add to the décor,
But even if you were gift wrapped, dear,
I couldn't love you more.
You have to know that if I had you,
I’d have the gift I’d most adore,
Better than any expensive gift
I could purchase in a store.
If you hug me tight, you wonderful thing,
And be my Christmas gift,
You’ll brighten my days forevermore
And give my heart a lift.

  1. Fantastic! I don't chase down Santa either. Perhaps I should...still, I don't relish the whole 'stand in line forever with whiny child' tradition. Call me crazy.
