Baby Love

Our little lady is growing so fast. It's amazing to watch Evie learn about her surroundings and her own capabilities. In just three days, she went from sitting with lots of support to being able to sit and play for hours at a time.  Her balancing abilities have grown by leaps and bounds - which makes her look less like a drunken sailor on a bar stool and more like a professional sitter-upper.

She has been "standing" with help for a few months now, but she is now taking "steps" (while holding our hands of course).  She's only 7 months old  - I don't want her walking just yet! But I'm so proud of each little accomplishment she makes. Time to babyproof the house though.  Our lives are about to get a lot more complicated!

A wee Scottish bairn representing!

And last but not least, here is the gratuitous nekkid baby shot.  In order to avoid being accused of posting baby p*rn online, I've covered her girlie bits with the obligatory pink heart. I hope it doesn't distract from the adorableness that is a Dancing Nekkid Baby.  Gosh, she loves her pre-bath nekkid time. (ah, but who doesn't?)

"throw ya hands in the air and
wave 'em like ya just don't care"

We'll see how long it takes for her to outgrow this nekkid stage.  It's obviously hilarious while she's so little and adorable, but if she's anything like her Uncle Battle, the constant need for nekkid time could become a problem later in life.

(only kidding, B!)

Well, not really...

Evie's momma finally broke down and bought a new camera!

And by broke down, I do mean snapped up a Canon Rebel XSi as fast at the credit card transaction would go through! (Yes, it's completely paid for now.)

I've really enjoyed getting the hang of photography in general and learning the different functions of the snazzy camera. I don't think I'll ever make a dime off of my photography skills (or lack thereof), but at least I'll have some lovely pictures of Evie to record the early days, months, and years of her precious life.

We celebrated the extraordinary awesomeness* of my motherhood on Mother's Day by going to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Luckily, the weather cooperated for some beautiful photographs of Lil Miss Priss.
(*
my awesomeness is simply defined by keeping Evie fed, clothed, alive and well so far!)

My pipe dream is to one day have enough talent to rouse a friend or family member into asking for my "services" to document a special occasion in their lives.  Till then, I'm just going to point, shoot, and document Evie's cuteness!

Lil Fairie Baby!

Evie's smiles are irresistible.
You can't NOT laugh when she starts having one of her giggle fits.

Playing in one of the fountains at the ABG.
In Evie's eyes, this is simply the best bathtub ever.

I like to call this picture my "Sunshine Baby" -- it was such a beautiful morning to take pictures on Mother's Day at ABG.

Hi, Stranger

Whew, it's definitely been a while. I will quickly admit that blogging is has not been a priority of mine and I'm not the best at keeping up with this site. That being said, I've recently decided to "re-dedicate" this blog to it's original purpose: documenting the goings-on of the Yankee (Chris), the Peach (me), and the Lil Peach (Evie).

And by documenting, I do mean pictorial documentation since I'm too lazy to type much of anything non-work related these days. Since they say a picture is worth a thousand words, please consider these photos my 7,000+ word essay:

Hello, I'm Evie.
My mommy's fantastic parenting skills include
pulling me
around in a bucket,
while wild dogs attempt to eat me for supper.

Rub a dub dub, in the tub.

Uncle Battle's guitar skills fascinate me.
And only me, so far.

Enjoying my first teething biscuit.
These things are like concrete when they dry,
so Mommy likes to give me one right before bath time.

I'm so polite and I always chew with my mouth closed.

I wait patiently for my food. Every. Single. Time.  (riiiiiight.)

let's chat!
